Merlin

An intermediate run on Richardson’s Ridge, named for the merlin (Falco columbarius); a small falcon that hunts in open forest and alpine margins throughout Banff National Park. Access via the Richardson’s Ridge Express or Pipestone Express.

Terrain

Part of the Phase 1 Richardson’s Ridge expansion (2025–26); green and blue terrain designed for beginner and intermediate progression. Lower elevation and forest cover provide wind protection compared to the Summit and Paradise chairs; a “low-pressure environment” on the back side. Neighbours the Skoki run and other Richardson’s Ridge trails.
