Glacier Skywalk

A glass-floored observation platform 280 m above the Sunwapta Valley, opened in 2014 at the Columbia Icefield along the Icefields Parkway. The Skywalk provides an unobstructed aerial view of hanging valleys and U-shaped topography carved by glaciers.

By concentrating visitors on a structured platform, Parks Canada and partners minimize foot traffic on fragile alpine tundra while offering an immersive glacial experience. The facility is fully accessible and reached from the Glacier Discovery Centre.
