Mount Niblock

Lake Louise Lakeshore

A peak northwest of Mount Fairview, overlooking Lake Agnes. Mount Niblock (2,976 m) is rated as a moderate scramble; a significant step up from the hiking trails of Fairview or Mount St. Piran.

Route. The approach begins from Lake Agnes: boulder field, scree chute, and cliff bands to reach the Niblock–Whyte col. From the col, the route to the Niblock summit involves “interesting scrambling and route finding” on relatively stable rock. Spectacular views of Mount Victoria, Mount Lefroy, and the Lake Louise basin.

Walter Wilcox claimed a first ascent. Often combined with Mount Whyte (2,983 m) in a double-summit day, though Whyte is significantly more difficult.
