Summit Platter

Lift

Whitehorn

Built 1975

A T-bar surface lift built in 1975, complementing the Olympic Chair and Whitehorn gondola for top-to-bottom access; it fulfilled Sir Norman Watson’s vision of a lift to the top of Whitehorn. The platter required balance and strength; a natural filter that limited Back Bowls access to more capable skiers. Carried riders to the ridge above Windy Gap; skiers traversed the col to reach the Boomerang corridor and Upper Boomerang. Replaced in 2020 by the Summit Chair (Doppelmayr quad). See Whitehorn Back Bowls.
