E.R. 3
One of the Eagle Ridge (ER 1–7) technical chutes on the backside, arguably the most famous. Primary venue for the Freeride World Qualifier and Big Mountain Challenge. Complex terrain: sustained steepness, technical chokes, iconic cliff drops including “Eagle Air.” Snow accumulates in deep pockets due to sheltering rock ribs. ER 3 was a permanent avalanche closure under Parks Service before the resort assumed avalanche operations in the mid-1990s. Accessed via the Paradise Chair and The Corridor traverse.
