Before you go

- Winter tires (M+S minimum; Mountain Snowflake recommended)
- Full tank, emergency kit, blanket, water
Road to the lake
- Steep and can be very icy; drive to conditions
- Parking at lakeshore is free in winter but fills on weekends; arrive early
