Offline-ready

Take the Field Guide with you

Save the site to your phone or laptop. Live data (weather, roads, river levels, resort status) shows the last synced snapshot with a freshness badge when you're offline.

Install to your home screen

The site becomes a standalone app icon. Loads faster, hides the browser chrome, and the offline cache lives in its own bucket so it survives normal Safari history clears.

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

  1. Open the share menu (the square with the up-arrow) at the bottom.
  2. Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen.
  3. Pick a name and tap Add.

Chrome and Firefox on iOS share Safari's engine and follow the same flow.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome's three-dot menu.
  2. Tap Add to Home screen or Install app.
  3. Confirm the name and tap Add.

Chrome may show a banner offering the same; tap it instead if you see it.

Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Brave)

  1. Look for the install icon in the address bar (a monitor with a down-arrow).
  2. Click it and confirm.
  3. The Field Guide opens in its own window from then on.

Firefox doesn't support PWA install on desktop; bookmark the site instead.
