EPUB or PDF?

Choose EPUB for reading

Best on Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo, Calibre, and phones. Text reflows, font size is adjustable, and the file is smaller.

Choose PDF for fixed pages

Best when you want predictable page layout, easy printing, or a file that looks the same on every device.

How the books work

  • Filenames stay the same across versions. Re-downloading replaces the file on your device, so you keep one copy that always reflects the latest build.
  • Version is a date stamp (YYYYMMDD). The version appears on the title page of both editions and at the top of this page so you can tell when your copy was built.
  • Content matches the wiki as of the build date. Live data (weather, road conditions, river levels) is web-only and intentionally not in the book.
  • Verify current safety and access before acting on closures, roads, shuttles, prices, operating status, weather, or terrain decisions. The books are offline context, not live authority.
  • All rights reserved. The books and site content are free to download for personal reading, but they are not open licensed.
  • Images use the site-owner credit throughout. Individual entries do not repeat the credit unless that ever changes.
  • Cover changes each build, pulled from the site's seasonal hero photos. Cosmetic; the content is identical regardless of which cover you see.
