Wiwaxy

A beginner run on the Front Side, named for Wiwaxy Peak and Wiwaxy Gap at nearby Lake O’Hara. Served by the Summit Chair and Glacier Express; the lower section is part of the Men’s Downhill racecourse. Connects to Upper Wiwaxy above and Race Pitch below. “Wiwaxy” derives from the Stoney Nakoda word for “windy”; geologists later used the peak to name the Cambrian fossil species Wiwaxia corrugata.
